Explore the city at your own pace, take on missions, make money, buy weapons, improve your skills, recruit bodyguards, and find new things to do across the map. You can follow the story, spend time building up your character, or simply head into the streets and see where the day takes you.
Switch freely between third-person and a classic top-down camera while playing. Third-person brings you closer to the action, while the overhead view gives the game a more old-school arcade crime-game feel.
The world is designed to be more than scenery. You can enter different shops and interiors, visit gun stores, work out at gyms, eat at fast-food restaurants, watch movies at cinemas, play bowling and billiards, use arcade machines, and discover activities scattered around the cities.
Combat is not limited to guns. Get into fist fights, use kicks and melee weapons, improve your fighting ability, and take part in kickboxing challenges against increasingly dangerous opponents . Different skills improve as you play, giving you more reasons to explore activities beyond the main missions.
The streets react to what you do. Start trouble and civilians may run, fight back, or get caught in the chaos. Push things further and the police become involved. As your wanted level increases, escaping becomes harder and the situation can quickly turn into a full chase.
You can also recruit bodyguards who follow you around the city and fight alongside you when things get dangerous.
